Roots – they are important to all of us to know where we came from and where we are going. As part of preparing my campaign, I recently traveled around and had photos taken. It was a natural decision to choose locations near and dear to my heart and to so many of you, our homes, countryside and towns in St. Mary’s County. As I am asking you to consider supporting and voting for me, remember, it is because of this shared history that I believe makes it possible for me to humbly request your support. As many of you have told me about how higher taxes cripple your businesses, cause your employers to have to make cutbacks which affect you; state agencies create unrealistic and inane new regulations, I have to tell you that I am not only listening but because we have so many shared roots, I understand you as well. It is not enough to simply listen, understanding must follow.
For those of you who do not know too much about me, my website will be providing some of that background which I hope will bring you to know me better and soon I will be visiting your neighborhoods, shops and farms to assist me in knowing you better. As we grow nearer to the day when my campaign website becomes alive, I will ask your forbearance in tolerating some politicking here and I promise to throw in some recipes too, to add some more flavor to my campaign!
