Waldorf, MD – On Jan. 7 there was a fire in one of the restrooms at John Hanson Middle School, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office reported.
At about 2:25 p.m. students discovered a small fire inside of a trashcan in one of the boys’ restrooms. Staff was notified and the fire was put out. The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.
According to Dfm. Melissa Decker, combustibles in the trashcan were deliberately set on fire.
The investigation is ongoing.
