BALTIMORE, Md. – The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General today released the body-worn camera footage from the fatal police-involved shooting involving the Cheverly Police Department that occurred on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Riverdale, Prince George’s County, Maryland. 

The decedent was previously identified as 45-year-old Tesfa Leith of Riverdale, Maryland. 

The IID continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal police-involved shooting. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the IID at (410) 576-7070 or by email at IID@oag.state.md.us.

  1. He already stabbed one person that day, he was just going to tickle the cop he charged this time. Why did they shoot him?
