Bomb Squad responds to suspicious package in Hollywood

Hollywood, MD— On Dec. 3, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office discovered a small “beeping” item along the roadway which appeared to have two wires coming from it and was wrapped in some kind of aluminum material.

They secured the scene and requested the State Fire Marshal’s Office’s Bomb Squad.  Upon examination of the item, it was determined that the device was an anti-theft tag with a cut cable that was from a mercantile store and it posed no threat. 

The roadway was reopened a short time later.
