Bonnie Keller Mallan

Bonnie Marie Keller Mallan, passed away on March 12, 2025. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Bonnie was born on October 15, 1961, where she was raised around family, friends, and the family businesses in Charles County. True to her southern Maryland roots, she loved crabs and stuffed ham. She went on to attend Salem College in West Virginia, forming the most wonderful, life-long friends. After college, Bonnie moved to Charlottesville, VA where she became an X-ray Technician and settled down to raise her daughter.

But more than anything, Bonnie was known for her kind spirit, big smile, and loyalty to her family and friends. She loved to travel but would make the smallest outing an adventure. The kitchen was Bonnieโ€™s happy place, and she found great joy in sharing food with those she treasured. And she was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges you may be going through.

Bonnie is survived by her devoted daughter, Sarah Mallan, and her husband, Tyler Bannister, who was Bonnieโ€™s primary care provider in her final years of life, her mother, Helen Elizabeth Keller, Sarahโ€™s father, Ed Mallan [Lynn], her siblings, Susan Miller, Ernest Keller [Leigh Ann], and Charles Keller [Alison], her nieces and nephews, and many friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Her favorite prayer was Hail Mary and she would say to call upon the Mother when you are in need of guidance. If you are a person that turned to Bonnie for support, I hope this prayer brings you comfort as it did Bonnie.

Remember to be kind and have fun.
