HUGHESVILLE, Md. – Emergency crews responded to a fast-moving brush fire in the area of Helen Fowlers Place in Hughesville on Saturday afternoon. According to initial reports, the fire spread rapidly, endangering nearby residences.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:28 p.m. after a caller, who was described as panicked and unable to answer questions, reported that flames had already reached their property. Units from multiple agencies arrived on the scene and worked to contain the fire.
Authorities have not yet confirmed any injuries or damage to structures, but responders have urged residents in the area to remain cautious as they continue operations.
