CHARLES COUNTY, Md. – The Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism winter edition of The GUIDE is now available online, offering residents an array of seasonal events, programs, and activities for all ages. With online registration open, individuals can now sign up for a variety of adult, youth, and teen programs, sports leagues, fitness classes, and more.

This winter edition highlights a number of festive holiday events, including the popular Swimming with Santa, DIY Christmas Swag workshops, and the Charles County Holiday Tour, which allows history enthusiasts to explore the area’s rich heritage. These events, along with a wide range of other activities, promise to bring joy and excitement to the community this season.

Additionally, the Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism is offering a special holiday gift idea—the RecPASS. This membership grants access to all drop-in programs throughout the year, with an option to include a pool membership for year-round aquatic fun. RecPASS is available in different packages, making it a perfect stocking stuffer for individuals, couples, families, or parents and children looking for year-long recreation.

Looking ahead to 2025, the department is offering a variety of opportunities for personal growth and fitness. New courses, such as computer coding classes, as well as fitness programs like Rebound Fitness and Aqua Circuit, are designed to help residents learn new skills and achieve their wellness goals in the new year.

For local teens, the Friday Teen Hangouts provide a free, inclusive space for 13-17-year-olds to socialize, engage in activities, and develop life skills. These hangouts aim to foster community engagement and promote youth development across Charles County.

The department is also preparing for an exciting move. Later this year, the Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism office will transition from its current location in Port Tobacco to a larger, newly renovated space in La Plata. The move promises to enhance the department’s ability to serve the community and offer even more opportunities for local residents. Until the new location is ready, visitors can continue to access services at the Port Tobacco office or online at www.CharlesCountyParks.com.

As the season of giving approaches, Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism invites all residents to take part in the festivities and programs offered this winter. Whether exploring local history, enjoying outdoor recreation, or engaging in fitness, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this holiday season and beyond.
