Charles County Government offices will close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 31. The Commissioners approved early closure on these dates to allow county employees time off to spend time with loved ones.
The Tri-County Animal Shelter will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31, and will open two hours earlier (at 10 a.m.) both days to allow time for adoptions.
The Charles County Landfill (12305 Billingsley Rd., Waldorf) will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Landfill and Pisgah Recycling Center (6645 Mason Springs Road, La Plata) will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Gilbert Run (13140 Charles Street, Charlotte Hall) and Cobb Island (15950 Cobb Island Road, Cobb Island) Recycling Centers will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Waldorf Senior Center is closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and the remaining senior centers (Clarke Senior Center, Nanjemoy Senior Center and the Indian Head Senior Center) will close at 2 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec. 31, all senior centers will close at 2 p.m.
