Joppa, MD –ย The Joppa-Magnolia VFC received a call for a dog that had fallen through ice on Jan. 20 at about 8:10 a.m.

Assistant Chief 8-1 was the first on the scene.

A civilian in a kayak paddled out to the dog and brought it back to shore where it was reunited with its owner.

Reports say a veterinarian was there with the owner and said the dog appeared to be uninjured.

No JMVFC resources were used in the recovery.

The JMVFC would like to remind pet owners to keep their pets on a leash and not allow them to walk on ice.
