Leonardtown, MD — โ€œAll my cancer seems to be gone!โ€ Those words from St. Maryโ€™s County Commissioner President Randy Guy [R] brought a huge round of applause from those assembled at the commissionersโ€™ regular Dec. 1 meeting.

Guy was diagnosed earlier this year with large B-cell lymphoma (a Hodgkinโ€™s type). He has been undergoing chemotherapy after a lump was removed from his throat. Guy said at the commissionersโ€™ meeting that his doctors have told him that chemotherapy was no longer needed, much to his relief.

Guy reported that several spots have been detected on his neck and that he will have to receive โ€œlow-level radiationโ€ to address that, but the treatment is not nearly as aggressive as was with the chemotherapy.

โ€œI am happy to say I am feeling better every day,โ€ Guy said. He has been regularly attending meetings during the treatment and only missed one session along the way.

Commissioner John Oโ€™Connor [R – 3rd District] also announced he is doing better after being hospitalized recently for complications from service-related War injury to his neck.
