LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A chain of events involving an assault, a vehicle pursuit, and a crash with a marked patrol unit has culminated in the conviction and jail time of a Baltimore woman.

According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSO), Sabrina Brianna Thompson, 28, of Baltimore, was found guilty in connection with an incident that occurred on Jan. 19, 2025, in Lexington Park. Deputies were initially dispatched to a residence for the report of an assault in progress. Prior to arrival, dispatch advised that the suspect had fled the scene, providing a description of the vehicle involved.

According to police reports, deputies subsequently located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Authorities report that the driver failed to stop, initiating a brief pursuit. The vehicle returned to the original scene of the reported assault, where it allegedly stopped in the roadway before reversing into a marked patrol vehicle. As deputies exited their vehicle, the suspect reportedly accelerated again, nearly striking officers while fleeing the area.

Court records indicate the vehicle then left the roadway, traveling through a grassy area in an apparent attempt to evade law enforcement. The pursuit continued eastbound on Great Mills Road, where the vehicle allegedly ran a red light before turning onto Three Notch Road. The vehicle was ultimately immobilized, and the driver was identified as Thompson. She was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

Police statements show that following Thompson’s arrest, deputies made contact with the victim of the initial assault. According to reports, the victim stated Thompson attempted to throw them to the ground while trying to take their phone and also pushed a second victim, identified as a minor.

Court records reflect that Thompson was found guilty of second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000 or more, and attempting to elude a uniformed police officer.

She was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for the assault charge, with all but 18 months suspended. She received 209 days of incarceration for both the malicious destruction of property charge and the fleeing/eluding charge, to be served beginning March 27, 2026.

In addition, Thompson was ordered to serve three years of supervised probation upon release and to pay $3,000 in restitution, along with applicable court costs.
