The Coors Light Ballers Womenโ€™s Softball Team are having a Wing Eating Contest this Thursday, July 24, to raise money for a tournament in Ocean City.

The Wing Eating Contest will take place Thursday at 8 p.m., at Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon in California. Registration for the event begins at 7 p.m. All contestants must be registered by 7:30 p.m. to compete in the contest.

There is a pre-registration entry fee of $10, and an on-site registration fee of $15. Those wishing to pre-register may call Kelly Reynolds at (240) 210-3631 or stop by the ladiesโ€™ game against โ€œJust Usโ€ at Chancellorโ€™s Run Regional Park at 6:30 p.m., tonight, on field 3.

The event will include all you can eat wings for the contestants, a 50/50 raffle, music, dancing, cocktails and more. The winner of the contest will receive a Cooler of Cheer. All proceeds from the event will go to the Coors Light Womenโ€™s Softball Team to help them travel to a tournament in Ocean City the weekend of August 2.

The coaches for the Coors Light Ballers Team are Jim Taylor, Jeff Talley and Brian Burchett. The team is co-sponsored by Bozick Distributors/Coors Light and Atlas Concrete. The team plays Monday and Wednesday nights on various fields in St. Maryโ€™s County.

There are three divisions in the St. Maryโ€™s County Womenโ€™s Softball League with 11 teams total. Ages of the women vary from 16 years old, with parental consent, to 50 years young. The women teams were created in 1969.
