Since 1984, the first week of May is recognized as National Correctional Officers and Employees Week honoring Correctional Professionals across the nation.  The Calvert County Detention Center commenced the celebration with a flag raising ceremony together with various events during the week showing appreciation to the staff.  Sheriff Evans together with Major T. D. Reece and staff received a proclamation from the Board of County Commissioners thanking correctional officers and employees for their dedicated service, high levels of ethics, morals, and personal conduct, while remembering the Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice during their tour of duty while protecting their community.  The employees of the Calvert County Detention Center proudly serve the citizens of Calvert County.
