Leonardtown, MD โ€”ย On Friday, May 6, 2016, Delegate Deborah Rey, Delegate Anthony Oโ€™Donnell, Delegate Matt Morgan and Karen Sauter from Senator Waughโ€™s Office will tour three of the largest housing and care facilities for seniors and disabled adults in St. Mary’s County.ย  The tour will kick-off at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Lane Senior Living Community in Leonardtown, where the Delegates and Ms. Sauter will join residents for the 209-unit apartment communityโ€™s Motherโ€™s Day Celebration.ย  Local fire fighters and Captain Steve Hall and Corporal Peggy Smolarsky of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division will present flowers donated by Towne Florist and Davidโ€™s Florist to residents as part of the event.ย  The Bushmill Band (John Garner, Bill Longley, Randy Stillwell, Anniejean Di Donato & Pat Houseman) will provide entertainment for all to enjoy. ย 

The Delegatesโ€™ tour will continue at St. Maryโ€™s Adult Medical Day Care (SMAMDC) in Hollywood at 2:20 p.m., where the center is also hosting a Motherโ€™s Day event for its participants.ย  The tour will conclude with a visit to St. Maryโ€™s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown. ย ย 

This tour is an opportunity for local elected officials to meet with elderly residents and staff to learn more about the needs and challenges faced by seniors in St. Maryโ€™s County, as well as the organizations that serve them.ย  Beverly Stickles, President & CEO of Cedar Lane Senior Living Community remarks that โ€œThe Delegatesโ€™ Tour is just one example of how local organizations work together for the benefit of some of our most vulnerable members of our community.ย  Cedar Lane has been delighted to work with Marianne Meighen of St. Maryโ€™s Adult Medical Day Care and Annette Hodges of St. Maryโ€™s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to organize this visit by our elected officials; itโ€™s been an extension of our collaborative work in meeting the needs of those we serve.โ€ย
