NORTH BEACH, Md. – A response to a reported fight in North Beach escalated on December 9, 2024, when deputies arrested a local woman for disorderly conduct after she repeatedly ignored warnings to cease using profane language in a public area.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of 4111 3rd Street at approximately 6:11 p.m. following a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers, including DFC Strong and Cpl. Gilmore, engaged with two women, one of whom was later identified as Monica Linnett Lowe (B/F DOB: 01/21/1967). Both women denied any altercation. Witnesses on the scene reported that a male subject had left the residence prior to the deputies’ arrival, and the alleged fight was subsequently cleared as unfounded.
As deputies prepared to leave the residence, Lowe began shouting profanities from her porch, drawing the attention of pedestrians and nearby patrons of Sunrise Garden Park and a dance studio across the street. Despite repeated requests from deputies to lower her voice or return inside her residence, Lowe continued to yell obscenities, including “f*ck” and “sh*t,” disrupting the public peace. Witnesses included juveniles and visitors to the North Beach Boardwalk, a popular location for community activities.
Officers noted the strong odor of alcohol on Lowe’s breath during the encounter, further raising concerns about her behavior. After multiple warnings, Lowe was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center in Prince Frederick.
Law enforcement reported activating their agency-issued body cameras for the duration of the incident, which occurred entirely within Calvert County, Maryland. The case has been closed with the arrest of Lowe, who now faces charges for disturbing the peace.
