The mother of a kindergarten student suspended for three days last month has confirmed that Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) officials have informed the family that the punitive action has been expunged from the childโ€™s permanent record.

The 5-year-old, a student at Dowell Elementary School, had been suspended for bringing a cap pistol to school. The incident made news worldwide as the parents contacted an attorney and the press about school administratorsโ€™ reaction to the indiscretion.

The childโ€™s name has not been released by the media.
