On April 1, 2012 at approximately 1:30 am deputies responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Budds Creek Road at Chaptico Road. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Peter Allen Murphy, 31 of Mechanicsville was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed a loaded .22 caliber handgun, register to Murphy, in the vehicle. Murphy was charged with possession of a handgun.
