Shotgun Seized During Traffic Stop In Lexington Park, Issued Seatbelt Citation

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On June 5, 2021, Tpr J. Engleman conducted a traffic stop on Rt 246 at Tri Community Way, Lexington Park.

Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as William Scott Jordan 23 of Lexington Park, MD, Tpr Engleman observed a semi-automatic shotgun in plain view and also detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed the unloaded shotgun, shotgun magazines, ammunition and a civil amount of marijuana. Investigation revealed that Jordan is Federally Prohibited from possessing firearms, therefore the firearm was seized.

Jordan was issued a marijuana civil citation and a seatbelt ticket, no charges were filed according to MSP.
