HOLLYWOOD, Md. — An escalating disturbance involving claims of a “fentanyl stick,” a vacant residence, and repeated attempts to gain entry has led to criminal charges against a St. Mary’s County woman, according to authorities.
According to the Maryland State Police (MSP), troopers responded on March 20, 2026, to a residence in Hollywood, Maryland, for a welfare check. Prior to arriving at the location, a trooper was flagged down by a woman later identified as Christina Lynn Rivas, 53, of Hollywood.
Authorities report that Rivas made a series of alarming claims, stating that an individual inside her residence had been struck multiple times with a “fentanyl stick” and was in immediate danger. She allegedly pointed to a residence next door and claimed she needed access to retrieve keys in order to assist the purported victim.
According to police statements, based on prior interactions, troopers determined that Rivas was not associated with the residence she identified. Upon arrival, deputies with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSO) assisted at the scene while troopers made contact with the original caller.
The original caller informed law enforcement that Rivas had allegedly been attempting to gain entry into the home next door while yelling about family members being inside and in danger and dying. The witness further advised that the residence in question was vacant. Contact information for the property owner was provided to responding officers.
According to court documents, the witness also reported that Rivas had allegedly made threats involving killing the property owner with fentanyl, who had previously obtained a no-trespass order against Rivas in February 2026.
Troopers subsequently contacted the property owner, who confirmed prior incidents involving Rivas earlier that day. According to the owner, Rivas had been on the property multiple times and had been removed earlier by a family member, but later returned. The owner stated that Rivas would become agitated upon seeing them and had been yelling throughout the property.
During interviews with witnesses and the property owner, law enforcement reported that Rivas could be heard yelling and screaming in the background. Officers then attempted to place Rivas under arrest. Authorities allege that she resisted, requiring assistance from SMCSO deputies to secure her in handcuffs.
Rivas was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center without further incident.
According to charging documents, Christina Lynn Rivas is charged with trespass on private property, disorderly conduct, and resisting/interfering with arrest. She was released on a $2,000 bond. Court records indicate that her trial is scheduled for April 21, 2026, in St. Mary’s County District Court.
Under Maryland law, the charges filed carry varying maximum penalties. Trespass on private property and disorderly conduct are misdemeanor offenses, each punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a fine of up to $500. The charge of resisting or interfering with arrest is more serious, carrying a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
