There’s one historical fact that everyone can agree on: they definitely had beer in colonial times. Visitors to the Historic St. Mary’s City Beer Fest can certainly attest to that. For one weekend each summer, the streets of this historic living museum fill with the boisterous sounds of revelers raising a sudsy pint in celebration of America’s long brewing tradition.
The beers come from the kegs of some of Maryland’s preeminent craft breweries, including Flying Dog, Ruddy Duck, and Brewer’s Alley. These flagons of ale pair well with food from local vendors, as well as live entertainment including music and home-brewing demonstrations.
