
St. Leonard, MD — Volunteer fire department personnel responded April 21 to a report of about one acre on fire and threatening a nearby barn on Ball Road in St. Leonard.
The call was placed at 3 p.m. As units arrived on the scene it was estimated about three-quarters of an acre or less was burning and no structure was at risk.ย Multi brush units, tankers and engines responded to the call.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a camp fire at the site that was not total properly extinguished. The location was at a campsite behind the 400 block of Ball Road and Crossroads Christian Church.
Forestry fire service will be doing a follow up investigation on this fire.
