INDIAN HEAD, Md. — Something fishy is happening in Charles County this June—and it’s reeling in excitement from across the nation.

“Hooked! on the Potomac,” a two-day festival celebrating all things fishing, food, and family fun, will cast off June 28–29 at Village Green Park in Indian Head. The event coincides with the return of the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour, one of the sport’s most elite angling circuits, as Stage Six of the 2025 tour hits the Potomac River.

From 1 to 6 p.m. each day, the park will be transformed into a celebration of local culture and competitive fishing. Attendees can enjoy live music, local seafood vendors, giveaways, and even photo ops with Paw Patrol’s Skye and Marshall. Entry is free.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase Indian Head and Charles County on a national stage,” said local tourism officials, pointing to the economic and community impact of hosting a nationally televised tournament.

While anglers battle it out on the water in pursuit of the Angler of the Year title, fans onshore won’t miss a moment. Live-streamed watch parties at the festival will air every cast and catch in real time—thanks to MLF’s signature SCORETRACKER system.

The Bass Pro Tour is Major League Fishing’s top-tier competition, featuring nearly 70 of the world’s best anglers, including heavyweights like Jacob Wheeler, Jordan Lee, and Ott DeFoe. The Potomac River’s tidal waters are known for both their scenic beauty and challenging conditions—making for a must-watch leg of the season.

Fans will also have a chance to meet the pros during autograph sessions, adding a personal touch to the high-stakes action.
