WALDORF, Md. — Fans of the Caped Crusader won’t need to travel to Gotham to celebrate Batman Day 2025. On Saturday, Sept. 20, Southern Maryland will join the global festivities with all-day sales and giveaways at Third Eye Comics and a two-day Batman movie marathon at Xscape Theatres Brandywine 14.
Batman Day was first held in 2014 to honor the Dark Knight’s 75th anniversary at San Diego Comic-Con. Since then, it has been celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September, giving fans across the world a chance to pay tribute to one of comics’ most enduring heroes.
Celebrations in Southern Maryland
Southern Maryland readers can join the action at Third Eye Comics, which will host all-day events at its Waldorf, Lexington Park (California) and Annapolis locations. Each store will feature 20% off all Batman and Bat-family graphic novels, toys and merchandise, along with free Batman Day 2025 comics with purchase, including “Batman Gotham Sampler,” “Batman and Robin Year One #1,” and “Batman Year Two #1.”
Fans who arrive in costume can also take part in cosplay contests for a chance to win exclusive Batman prize packs during the celebration, which runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Xscape Theatres Batman Marathon
Movie fans can also head to Xscape Theatres Brandywine 14 for a two-day Batman movie marathon. On Sept. 20–21, the theatre will screen:
- The Lego Batman Movie (11:20 a.m)
- Batman Begins (1:30 p.m.)
- The Dark Knight (4:40 p.m.)
- The Dark Knight Rises (8 p.m.)
Tickets are $5 each, and members earn double Movie Star points.
No Books-A-Million Events This Year
While Books-A-Million Waldorf has hosted Batman Day activities in the past, The BayNet confirmed the retailer does not have any events planned for 2025.
