Hockey stick-wielding woman charged with child abuse

Great Mills, MD – On Feb. 27, Deputy Vincent Pontorno of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Caravel Court in Great Mills, for a reported assault.

The victim alleged the suspect, identified as Jennifer Ann Andra, 38, of Great Mills (pictured), struck the victim repeatedly with a hockey stick. Deputy Pontorno observed several bruises on the victim’s arm and legs. Andra was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

Andra was charged with second-degree child abuse, custodian. According to court records, Andra posted bond and was released. A court hearing on the case has not been scheduled at this time.
