HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — Local diesel technician Jeffrey Guzman, a nearly 10-year veteran of Cummins, has once again earned national recognition, qualifying for the prestigious Cummins Top Tech Competition for the fourth time in his career.
Guzman previously qualified for the elite competition in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and now returns to the national stage after nearly a decade of hands-on experience in the field. The Top Tech Competition brings together some of the most skilled technicians across the country, testing their ability to diagnose and repair complex engine and electrical systems under real-world conditions.
Over his 9.5 years with Cummins, Guzman has developed a reputation for precision, consistency, and advanced diagnostic skill. His ability to troubleshoot complex issues and adapt to evolving technology has helped him stand out among his peers.
The competition challenges technicians with advanced scenarios, including engine diagnostics, high-voltage systems, and cutting-edge powertrain technology.
For Guzman, returning to Top Tech is both a personal achievement and a reflection of years of hard work.
This year’s competition will take place April 27 through May 1, where Guzman will once again compete among the nation’s best technicians.
With four appearances at Top Tech and nearly a decade of experience behind him, Guzman continues to set a high standard in the skilled trades and serve as a source of pride for Southern Maryland.
