LEONARDTOWN, Md. — National Library Week is almost here, and St. Mary’s County Library is inviting the community to join in the celebration April 19–25.

The annual event highlights the important role libraries and library professionals play in transforming lives and strengthening communities—and this year, residents are encouraged to “Find Your Joy” at their local library.

From signing up for a library card to exploring online resources, browsing books, movies, and music, or attending one of many free events for all ages, there are plenty of ways for visitors to get involved and make the most of everything the library has to offer.

As part of the celebration, the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County will recognize St. Mary’s County Library on Tuesday, April 14.

Library officials say National Library Week is a great opportunity for residents to reconnect with their local library and discover something new.
