ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A 57-year-old Annapolis man was convicted Thursday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court of assault and related charges in connection with a domestic attack at an Annapolis home in April.
A jury found Timothy Lee Styles guilty of first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment stemming from an April 11, 2025, incident at a home on Bates Street in Annapolis.
“This was a verbal argument that turned increasingly violent against the victim as she attempted to flee to safety,” State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess said in a statement. “The defendant threatened to kill the victim, held a knife to her neck, and strangled her to a point that she could not breathe. I am grateful to the jury, who heard the facts and agreed to the seriousness of this domestic attack.”
According to testimony at trial, Styles’ ex-girlfriend told jurors he cut her neck and arm with a knife and strangled her during the assault. Annapolis police officers were dispatched to the home on April 11 to investigate, and the woman was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Assistant State’s Attorney Isabelle Ferraro prosecuted the case on behalf of Anne Arundel County residents. The Annapolis Police Department led the investigation.
Judge Robert Thompson set sentencing for Dec. 3, 2025.
