Karen Lynn Stone, “Maw” 58, of Hollywood, MD, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on November 16, 1967, in Leonardtown, MD, she was the loving daughter of Leona V. “Lonie” Stone of Hollywood, MD and the late William B. “Willie” Stone. In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her daughter, Tiffany L. Reichard (Joshua) of Callaway, MD, her siblings, Brenda L. Woodburn of Mechanicsville, MD, Sharon M. “Sherry” James of Mechanicsville, MD, and William A. “Billy” Stone of Hollywood, MD, and her grandson, Garrett. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry A. Stone, Sr.
Karen was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and was a cost analyst for Weis Grocery for over 20 years. She loved playing the lottery and enjoyed casinos. Most of all, Karen was a proud grandmother to Garrett and loved to cook for her family. She was known for her fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and sweet potato pie. Karen will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with prayers recited at 7:00 PM, in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be William A. Stone, Gilbert James, Owen D. Collins, Joshua M. Reichard, and Daniel W. Woodburn. Honorary pallbearer will be Garrett W. Reichard.
