LA PLATA, Md. – La Plata High School captured first place at the It’s Academic county-level competition held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at St. Charles High School! The victory earns the team a spot in the regional “It’s Academic” show, which is set to air on Saturday, April 18, on WETA.
St. Charles High School took home second place, and Westlake High School placed third, rounding out an impressive showing of academic excellence across Charles County.
The annual competition challenges students’ knowledge in a variety of subjects — from math and science to literature, history, and current events — all under the pressure of the buzzer. It’s one of the longest-running and most respected academic competitions in the region.
