Lawrence M. Fowler Jr. passed away at home on January 22, 2026, of Hughesville MD. He was born on June 23, 1940, in Washington D.C. to his late parents, Lawrence and Helen Fowler. He attended and graduated from La Plata High School in 1958. Following his father’s footsteps in the military, he joined the Air Force in July 1958 and retired in 1967. After his retirement, he joined the D. C. Air National Guard from May 1967 to December 1996.
He enjoyed NASCAR, NFL football and cake, pie, brownies, cobbler, etc. Ready to raise a hammer and lend a helping hand for family and friends with home and car repairs and DIY projects. A simple, modest man with icy blue eyes, a quick stride filled with purpose and a warm smile of welcome.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and two sons. He is survived by his children Linda K. Davis, Loretta K. Zwick and Lawrence K. Fowler, along with 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Cassandra, Shane, Aimee, Joshua, Destiny, Sierra, Christopher, Olivia and April. He will also be missed by his sister Helen Fowler and brother Wayne Fowler.
Lawrence will be laid to rest with military honors at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.
