On December 29, 2013 Patrol units responded to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for the report of a adult female victim alleging she had been sexually assaulted by a known male subject. The Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and detectives responded to assume the investigation.
An investigation by detectives determined the female victim had taken a prescribed medication prior to retiring for the night which rendered her incapacitated. Upon waking, the victim advised her clothing was in disarray and she believed she had been sexually assaulted by the known suspect whom she stated had been a house guest.
The victim was treated by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and later released from the hospital. Sufficient evidence was obtained during the investigation and detectives were able to confirm the victim’s account of the incident and the suspect involved.
On January 1, 2014 detectives located Robert Maurice Scriber, age 40, of Lexington Park, Maryland at an apartment in California, Md. and placed him under arrest without incident. Scriber was charged with one count of a Second Degree Sex Offense and incarcerated in the detention center under no bond.
