SOUTHERN MARYLAND – There is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for this evening’s commute between 3 PM and 9 PM.
A period of light snow is POSSIBLE (a 30 percent chance) late this afternoon and
evening across the Washington metro area into central and southern Maryland with a coating to around one-half inch of snow accumulation possible.
If this threat does materialize during this evening’s rush-hour, any untreated roads could quickly turn snow covered and slippery. This could lead to dangerous traveling conditions.
If commuting this evening, be aware of the POSSIBILITY of significant travel disruptions. Plan ahead by allowing for extra travel time, and consider using public transportation and telework options.
Stay tuned for updates on this potential winter weather episode.
