Linda Lee Pomerleau

Linda Lee Pomerleau, 74, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on March 6, 2026, at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, in Leonardtown, MD, surrounded by her family.  Born on December 28, 1951, in La Plata, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Carroll Welch and the late Mary Lucille Welch.

For many years, Linda devoted herself to her family as a homemaker and a stay at home mother. She created a home full of warmth and love. When her children reached middle school, she returned to work as a cashier at Korner Karryout, where she worked until the Fall of 2000 when she left her job to babysit her two grandsons, Garrett and Dylan full time. In more recent years, Linda worked as a cashier at Food Lion in Charlotte Hall, MD,  where she was known for her kindness and friendly nature until her retirement in 2021.

Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures.  She loved doing yard work and tending to her flower beds, spending quiet moments relaxing on her swing and lovingly spoiling her two cats, Monk and Moses, who were a constant source of comfort and happiness for her. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren and she spoke of them often, always with love and admiration.

Linda was deeply loved by everyone. Her heart was the greatest gift and she shared it with everyone that knew her.

Linda is survived by her children; Katrina McDonald of Port Tobacco, MD, Andrea Pomerleau (Cecil) of Clements, MD, Armand “Buster” Pomerleau, III (Angela) of Mechanicsville, MD, and Armanda Engler (Jared) of Orlando, FL.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Ian, Garrett, Destiny, Logan, Dylan, Brett, Nolan and Breslin; one great-grandchild, Hadley; and her sister, Mary Shaffer of La Plata, MD.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Armand Gerard “Butch” Pomerleau, II whom she was married to for 48 years until his death on October 24, 2022; her brother Johnny Cecil Welch; and her sisters Dorothy Cecilia Spinks and Catherine Victoria Oliver.
