Chesapeake Beach, MD – On Feb. 12 at about 1:21 a.m. Trooper First Class Costello stopped a vehicle on Rt. 260 near Chesapeake Beach for traffic violations.
Shane A. S. Smith, 24 of Chesapeake Beach, appeared extremely nervous when TFC Costello approached the vehicle.
When exiting the vehicle, a metal object was observed. The item was retrieved and was found to be a large knife.
Smith was arrested for possession of a concealed dangerous weapon and was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
