MARION,ย  Md. โ€“ย  Maryland State Police named the man they say shot and killed his estranged wife and wounded another man on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

James Matthew Robellard, 54, of Hebron, Maryland is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, home invasion and one count of using a firearm in the use of a felony.

Police say the incident happened around 10 pm on Saturday night at home on Cornstack Road in Marion. According to reports, Robellard went to the home and shot his estranged wife, Lagina Lynn Robellard, 46, and a 47-year-old man who lived in the home.ย 

The man was able to grab his own firearm and shoot Robellard. Police believe that shooting was in self-defense.ย 

Lagina Robellard was declared deceased at the scene. The man who lived in the home was transported toTidalHealth Peninsula Regional where he was treated and police. No charges have been filed against him.ย 

This case remains under investigation.
