At 9:45 a.m. Oct. 21, Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Officer D. Major attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a passenger car on Berry Road near Festival Way in Waldorf for display tags registered to a truck.

The driver did not stop and continued west on Berry Road, running the red light at Western Parkway and driving through the median and into eastbound traffic.

The driver stopped the vehicle in his driveway in the 2900 block of Marsh Hawk Drive and was walking away from the vehicle when he was taken into custody.

Officers identified the driver as Daniel Joseph Ickes, 20, of Waldorf and charged him with driving while suspended, fleeing and eluding, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, reckless driving, negligent driving and numerous other traffic violations.

Ickes struck another vehicle in the driveway, causing minor damage. No one was injured.
