Man Flown To Burn Center After Waldorf Kitchen Fire

WALDORF, Md. — On the evening of July 31, 2024, at 7:56 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a kitchen fire with injuries on York Court near Yarmouth Court in Waldorf.

According to the caller, the fire, which had since been extinguished, left a man with severe burns on his legs and arms, rendering him immobile.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the aftermath of a stove fire and a 47-year-old man suffering from extensive burns. EMS promptly requested a MEDEVAC.

Firefighters established a nearby landing zone for Maryland State Police, Trooper 2. The injured man was subsequently airlifted to MedStar Trauma Center for urgent treatment.
