GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A Glen Burnie man remains jailed without bond following a New Year’s Eve shooting incident that damaged a nearby home and prompted an ongoing investigation into a second suspect.
Officers were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 2025, to the 7900 block of Stone Haven Drive after reports of shots fired. An officer arriving on scene observed two men firing weapons from the rear deck of a residence, police said. The suspects dropped the firearms and retreated inside after noticing police.
As officers secured the area, several people exited the home and were detained. A search of the residence led officers to an adult male hiding in the basement, who was identified as one of the shooters and taken into custody. The second suspect has not been identified.
Northern District detectives recovered a Pioneer Arms rifle and a Springfield XD .45-caliber handgun outside the home, along with 36 spent shell casings in the rear yard. Additional spent and unspent casings and other evidence were found inside the residence.
Investigators determined the gunfire was directed toward a wooded area between Stone Haven Drive and High Oak Road. A canvass of the area revealed one occupied home on High Oak Drive had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
The arrested suspect was identified as Rahim Demetrius Biggers, 45, of Glen Burnie. According to court records, Biggers faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of a handgun and a loaded handgun on his person, destruction of property, disorderly conduct, and felony counts related to firearm possession by a prohibited person.
Biggers was ordered held without bond following hearings on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 in Glen Burnie District Court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28 in Annapolis.
