
HANOVER, Md. — A 53-year-old Massachusetts man was killed early Thursday after being struck by a vehicle in Anne Arundel County.
Emergency crews were called at about 12:50 a.m. Feb. 5, 2026, to the area of Aviation Boulevard and Amtrak Way for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Investigators determined that a 1998 Honda Civic traveling north on Aviation Boulevard struck a man who was walking in the roadway.
The pedestrian, identified as Benjamin Kirchmyer of Franklin, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel.
The driver of the Honda Civic, a 43-year-old Baltimore resident, was not injured, according to police.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
