The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is postponing the full closure and detour of MD 765 (HG Trueman Road) just south of Dowell Road in Solomons until November 5. This delay is necessary to help ensure clear access to the polls at the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department on Election Day, November 4.
Drainage improvement work will still begin along MD 765 on Monday, October 27 as planned. Crews may use an occasional single lane closure and flagging operation on MD 765 for preliminary site work. On November 5, both lanes of MD 765 will be closed and a detour implemented for construction of a “bore pit” and placement of drainage pipe under MD 2/4 (Solomons Island Road) and MD 765. Weather permitting, SHA will complete this work and lift the closure prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
