At 8:26 P.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, crews from Bay District VFD Co. 3 and 9, Second District VFDRS Co. 6, Hollywood VFD Co. 7, and Lexington ย Park VRS Station 38 and 39 for a reported house on fire on the 45000 block of Summer Lane in Lexington Park. First arriving crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the residence. Crews made a swift attack on the fire that was confined to a bedroom at one end of the trailer. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents which included a 70 y.o. female, a 48 y.o. female, a 12 y.o. male, and a dog. SMECO was requested to secure the power in addition to the fire marshal to conduct an investigation as to the origin of the fire.

It was reported that the young male had smelled smoke and when he opened the bedroom door, he spotted a sparking fire which lead to immediate 911 notification.

No injuries were reported and crews operated on scene for one hour and forty minutes.
