CALIFORNIA, Md — Emergency responders were dispatched this morning at 9:32 a.m. for a report of a motor‑vehicle crash involving a tree at Wildewood Parkway and Hickory Nut Drive.

Early reports stated that there was a female patient with injuries who was not trapped. Medical responders provided patient care on scene and the injured patient was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center by Maryland State Police Aviation Command. 

Hickory Nut Dr. was reopened at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Law enforcement took over the investigation of the incident.
