WHITE PLAINS, Md. — A new synthetic turf field at Bennsville Park is set to open for public use this month, marking the third such field in Charles County.

According to a County Commission meeting update on Jan. 28, the turf surface was completed in October 2024 and is striped in different colors to accommodate five sports. Installation of field lighting and accessible paving was completed in January.

Officials anticipate a grand opening celebration in April. The new field joins existing turf fields at White Plains Regional Park and Laurel Springs, which opened in 2023.
