CALVERT COUNTY, Md. – Newly appointed Maryland State Senator Kevin Harris visited Calvert County recently following his appointment by the governor to fill the District 27 Senate seat, previously held by Senator Michael A. Jackson. Formerly a delegate representing District 27A, Senator Harris met with local stakeholders and toured several key infrastructure and energy facilities in the county.

The visit included tours of the Constellation Clean Energy Center and the Cove Point LNG Plant, where discussions focused on energy production, regional impacts and future opportunities. Before concluding the tour, Senator Harris also stopped to visit the Gov. Thomas Johnson Bridge to learn more about ongoing transportation needs and infrastructure priorities in Southern Maryland.

Calvert County looks forward to working with Senator Harris in his newly appointed role as he represents District 27 and advocates for the needs of our community. Thank you for your visit, Senator Harris!
