SOUTHERN MARYLAND – In the matter of the continuing investigation of the electric purchased power cost adjustment charges of Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc.

The Public Service Commission of Maryland (“Commission”) will hold a hearing to review the electric purchased power cost adjustment charges of Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc.

At least once every 12 months, the Commission is required to conduct a hearing to review these charges.

The next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m. The hearing will take place in the Commission’s 19th floor hearing room at the William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland.

  1. Why in Baltimore and why not in southern Maryland and should be in the evening and not in the morning when most people can attend

    1. They are live streaming the event so that we can attend online. This affects the whole state of Maryland, not just Charles County/Southern MD. The link to attend the meeting online is in the article above.

  2. I didn’t know Baltimore was part of SMECO region. And 10 AM on Tues.
    I guess they dont want anyone showing up to complain about the rising costs of electricity in Southern Maryland
