Brandywine, MD – On Thursday evening, Aug. 30 at approximately 11:25 p.m., officers responded to Missouri Avenue in Brandywine for a collision. According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, for reasons that remain unknown, a car traveling on Missouri Avenue crossed over the center of the roadway colliding with another car traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the striking vehicle lost control and subsequently collided with a tree. The driver of the striking vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. Missouri Avenue between Crain Highway and Brandywine Road was closed in both directions for several hours.
An official police report on the crash is pending. The name of the driver who was killed has not been released at this time.
