Pedestrian Killed After Crash On Three Notch Road In California, Maryland

UPDATE: 9:08 a.m. – Three Notch Road has reopened.

CALIFORNIA, Md. — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning on Three Notch Road in St. Mary’s County.

The incident was reported at approximately 2:54 a.m. on April 10, 2026, in the area of southbound Three Notch Road near Town Creek Drive in California. Initial reports indicated a male had been struck in the roadway.

Emergency responders arriving on the scene confirmed the pedestrian had been run over. Due to the severity of the incident, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities shut down all lanes of Three Notch Road in the area as crews worked the scene and conducted an investigation.

Multiple fire and EMS units responded, along with law enforcement. The roadway remained closed for an extended period as officials processed the crash.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by authorities.

  1. Really sad to see this morning and now reading that it was almost 3 hrs before I drive by… the least they could have done was covered him up in that time.

  2. Its really disheartening to read that the accident happen at 0230-0300. I drove by there at 0520 and it looked like the deceased was left uncovered and no one else was around. Why was he left out so long?
