
BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — A man was killed early Monday, September 15, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Ritchie Highway near Hammonds Lane.
Emergency personnel were called around 4:45 a.m. to the southbound lanes, where investigators determined the pedestrian had entered the roadway from the west side of the intersection. He was hit by a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 59-year-old Baltimore man.
The victim, described only as a male in his 40s or 50s, was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.
Police said the driver stopped immediately and remained at the scene, along with several witnesses who were interviewed by officers.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department Traffic Safety Crash Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation as authorities work to identify the pedestrian.
