UPDATE at 8:25 a.m.

Prince Frederick, MD – A 30 year-old man who was attempting to cross northbound Route 2/4 in Prince Frederick was struck by a sport utility vehicle, police reported. The incident occurred Monday morning, March 13 at approximately 7:11 a.m. near the Route 2/4 – Hallowing Point Road intersection.

A spokesman at the Maryland State Police Barrack in Prince Frederick told TheBayNet.com that the pedestrian’s injuries were non-life-threatening. The man was transported by ambulance to Calvert Memorial Hospital and then flown to a regional trauma center. Witnesses told police the man began running outside the crosswalk in an attempt to get across the road even though the light had just turned green.
