
WALDORF, Md. — Authorities have identified the woman killed in a fatal pedestrian crash Thursday evening in Waldorf as Elizabeth Ann Akers, 56, of Waldorf.
According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Akers was attempting to cross Old Washington Road near Trade Zone Court in a wheelchair around 8:17 p.m. when she was struck by two vehicles—one traveling southbound and the other heading north. Investigators say she was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No charges have been announced.
The crash closed the roadway for several hours as members of the Traffic Operations Unit documented the scene. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact PFC Walker at 301-609-3251.
